When I try to launch Photoshop CS3 on my Windows XP 32bit machine, since today I obtain an error message, saying that "it is impossible to run the specified application [which is actually specified nowhere]. VCOMP100.DLL was not found. A new installation could solve the problem".
What I did today was to install the FixerBundle upgrade (FocusFixer). The upgrade was a bit of a problem, as the installer programs behaves weirdly. First the setup.exe asks to be decompressed. You decompress it, and you have the exact same file you had in your first archive, but the new setup.exe has a different icon. This setup.exe will install the plugin if it worked properly. In my case, it asked me what kind of program I had. I said "Photoshop CS3" and he installed the stuff somewhere, but didn't correctly find my Photoshop which is not on unit C:. After launching Photoshop, I saw that I had the old plug-in installed. I disinstalled and reinstalled with the script "help" the plug-in, but it had no clue. I finally understood where the problem was. I told him I have "another" program, and gave it manually my plug-in directory in the E: unit.
I now have this error message when I launch Photoshop. I launched it a couple time after installation, but this is the first time I launch it after rebooting the computer.
A search on the internet doesn't show any "official" source. A lot of people want me to download another copy of VCOMP100.DLL from their server, which I obviously don't do.
Any notion of what this program is, and why should I need it? It's some sort of Visual Basic stuff? What has it to do with Photoshop?
