I just picked a really clean Omega B22 dirt cheap. I want to get a set of contrast filters for it but I'm a little confused. There seems to be two solutions. One is there is a filter tray in the condenser head and then there is option to have a filter tray below the lens. I don't have the below the lens tray. If I used the tray in the condenser head, which filters do I need to get? Thanks!

Dear farmersteve,

The normal Ilford brand gel filters will be fine. Just measure the filter tray. There are only a few sizes to choose from and one of them should fit. If not you will have to purchase a larger set and cut the filters to size.

Good luck,

Neal Wydra

I trimmed down four sets of MC filters from 6" square filters. For the B22, I mounted one set in glass slide mounts for 6x6 film for protection and easy handling.

OK, thanks! I figured it was so simple that I was overlooking the obvious...

I have a set of Ilford 6x6 inch Multigrade filters where about half have had about 3/4 of an inch trimmed off, but should still give plenty of available space to cut down for the B22 drawer.
Yours for the price of shipping, if it fits your needs. Send me a PM if interested.
