I have been doing Platinum/Palladium for sometime now, and I am currently considering trying VDB. I currently have a separate set of trays for silver gelatin, and Pt/Pd. Would it be prudent to get another tray(s) for VDB development, or will the trays I use for silver be alright?

You can use the same tray(s) that you use for Plt/Pld. I use a single tray for all iron based alt. processes. I just make sure I clean them after every session with a good wash. Sometimes they can get stained from toners or cyanotype and I just give them an over night soak in dish washing detergent and a healthy dose of chlorine bleach (aka. Chlorox).

I know that there are purists who insist that you should put a set of trays aside just for pt./pd. but my procedure is same as Don's, i.e. single tray processing and the same tray is used for all of the iron processes. Well, except for the fact that i rarely ever make cyanotypes. I just give the tray a good wash after processing, sometimes with a little chlorax, and that is that.
