If people put it together, people can take it apart. That's my approach. And I have a large crate full of pieces and parts to prove it!
Look for the two slots for a spanner wrench, usually on the front side epecially if it is threaded. Or a piece of wire inside a lip on one side that is a primitive c-ring that can be pried out. Or the Rollei method of looking solid but two parts that screwed together- put the filter between two large rubber stoppers and unscrew- usually takes decent pressure and maybe putting the filter in the freezer for a bit to change the parts sizes just enough to let it unscrew easier.
