Using Jobo 2500 tanks by hand.

Jobo referred me to Omega-Satter(?). Their tech support got me the part number and tranferred me to customer service and they sold me a pair and since shipping was high, I ordered another 35-120/220 dual reel, since I only have two and the tank will hold three.

A kind Apugger that has a non-cogged lid but needs a cog, whereas I have a cogged lid and need a non-cogged one are doing a swap.

I'm gonna be all set to do from 1-12 sheets of 4x5 and from 1-3 rolls of 120.

I may get a Uniroller for 120 since I don't do semi-stand for roll film and it will save me a lot of chemistry. Currently I use 1000ml for two reels in a stainless tank. With this tank it says I can do from 1-3 reels with 330 ml. Without the Uniroller, I'd be vertical and need 2500ml.

With the Uniroller, I presume that agitiation is non-stop and testing would be required since development times should end up being shorter. Is that correct?

If you've got three 120 reels then you can do six rolls of 120 or three rolls of 220

The volume you mentioned is only if you load the outside of the reels. If you load the inside by loading two rolls per reel then you'll need more. 640ml?

I plug my uniroller into a Gralab 300. The roller goes back and forth until the timer tells it to quit. You'll need to test but it seems the times vary depending on the developer chosen.

I may get more use out of this for 120 than for 4x5. Which is fine by me!

I'm new to apug, and have just got a graflex crown 4x5 and a jobo 2521 delivered on my doorstep. Until now I have only developed medium format or smaller.

In a couple of days I will develop my first 4x5 sheets. Reading this thread I would like to roll the tank manually, instead of inversion. I have found a lot of answers on this forum, however I still have two newbie questions:

1. How fast should the tank be rolled? I thought it should be as slow as possible - let's say one round per 10 seconds. But then I read that some of the machines could run 75 rpm... Any recommendations? Also - should it be rolled continuously all the time?

2. To be on the safe side.... The user guide says that 270 ml developer is needed. Will that really be sufficient?

(I will probably use ilford delta 100 with rodinal 1:50 - unless you have other good proposals

The tank needs to be in constant motion. If the tank stops the chemicals pool at the bottom. Which is bad for the film that will be at the top.

How fast? I think you need more then once every ten seconds.

270ml is the very least the tank needs. More won't hurt. If you use dilute developer you'll likely need more. First thing to check is how much your developer needs. If the tank isn't perfectly level you might want a bit more.
