I'm going to print at a community darkroom tomorrow, and I noticed last time I printed there that they didn't seem to have a full set of filters for the 45mxt. Will the ones I have cut for my 23c work? I thought I might take them in case they don't have another set.
I don't think they'll fit under the lamp house, but could I set them on top of the carrier or something?
The filters need to be large enough to completely fill the filter tray in the 45. If you are printing a small negative it's conceivable that you could mask the edges of the filters and center in the filter tray. If there is a set of color filters, yellow and magenta you can assemble a filter pack that will give you contrast control.
If you don't have big enough filters it will be unpredictable.

And yes you could set them over the negative, just realize that if they are close to the negative you will print the imperfections on the filter in your prints. If you could use popsicle sticks or something to raise the filter even an 1/8 of an inch above the negative that would help and use the enlarger lens on maximum f stop to decrease the depth of field of the lens to prevent you from picking up imperfections on the acetate filter. Good luck.

I have a brand-new set with no scratches, so that should be ok. I'm hoping that either a.) they actually do have a full set somewhere, or b.) maybe the 23c I saw lurking around the place once is still there.
