I have two very nice enlarger lenses a Nikor EL50 and Fujinon 90 and was wondering what type results I would get if I used them on my LTM RF???

I know enlarger lenses are really designed for a flat plane but I can't help but wonder?

I've done it
I used a cheapo 50mm f3.5 el-omegar that I got in a box ..one of the smaller variations not that it matters
Used a LTM extension tube set piece that gave pretty close to correct flange distance
focused on scotch tape to eyeball different distances with a turning out of the extension tube

It worked OK
90mm would be more difficult. Focussing is much more involved. I've tried that too but not with an enlarger lens
It worked OK as well

I attached a photo using the 90mm Ektar at like f5.6 at distance of 130ft+-
cheap scan of print
Half of the photo cause neighbors had a pile of junk and bricks next to their garage
vignetting due to too small aperture of lens adapter

No photo using enlarger lens but I guess I could post something one of these days without too much trouble

It works
Not for a prima donna, of course

I actually tried this out to test the feasibility of a 35mm enlarging lens
Focus is more easily controlled but finding one that covers 35mm cheaply is more difficult ..not that I've tried.

35mm Russian is perhaps $60 but that's $60 I'd rather use elsewhere
50mm lens is even cheaper so not worth the bother

Get an adapter that will mate a 39 mm Leica thread mount to a set of bellows to fit your camera, and an enlarging lens can make a very good macro lens for a 35 mm SLR.

on a large format camera people often use enlarger lenses ...
the g-claron lenses are sought after.

I have an enlarging ektanon 135/4.5 that gives nice swirlies shot wide open on a speed graphic.

You can find a Visoflex l and bellows relatively cheaply. You might have to be a little creative in taping(ahem!) the lens to the bellows though.
I've used a 135mm Tessar in shutter with a no name bellows to good effect and a Visoflex converts the LTM camera to a slow working SLR.

never use an elarging lens on an RF as I don't have a LTM RF but I have used them on the Nikon SLR with a bellow. They're great for macro. I imagine that unless you use the visoflex which really makes the RF into an SLR, focusing would be very difficult.
