Have you investigated Adobe Portfolio?

If not, why not?

I'm very happy with Photoshop and NIK but don't use LR.

I like the apparent simplicity of Adobe Portfolio. Is it as simple as it appears?

Looks nice enough. I already have a site on SmugMug - not yet sure if Portfolio offers any advantage. Other than the obvious - it avoids any reference to the stupid SmugMug brand name.

I fooled around with the Portfolio website for a little while, but I did not get far. Am I right that you create your Portfolio on the website? Or is there an ap/plugin? I'll need to find a tutorial to tell me how to add content. So far, I have not seen much integration with Lightroom, but I am probably just being dense.

Hi Gary.. I have to admit that I don't know quite how conveniently Portfolio works with Lightroom (I use PS even tho LR is free with my $ plan). I'll research that and post more.

I did have a Smugmug plan a couple of years ago but didn't think it was as useful as it might be today. I think Smugmug works too hard to sell prints that they would make for you or your (perhaps) wedding customer.

@jtk
After spending 30 minutes watching several videos with titles like, "How to Create a Photo Website in 5 Minutes with Adobe Portfolio," I finally figured out why the instructions were not working for me. Apparently, before the online Portfolio website builder can access your photos, you must first sync those photos from Lightroom (or any other Adobe photo software) to Adobe Cloud. I have never completely setup Lightroom to sync my photos to the cloud, so they are not available to Portfolio.

Like many things Adobe, I could probably dig through enough Adobe tutorials to figure out how to sync the photos and build build a portofolio, but I am not sufficiently motivated to do that right now.

SmugMug has an excellent plug-in for Lightroom that makes it convenient for me to create, upload, and edit SmugMug albums directly from within Lighroom. That process seems much easier to me than trying to learn what I would need to know to do about the same thing with Adobe Portfolio. But if I was not already familiar with SmugMug - starting from scratch - then the two processes would probably be similar in difficulty.

SmugMug has never tried to sell me anything - maybe because I only have a "Power" account which is not a commercial account?

Thanks for your effort.... I'm not using Adobe cloud or anybody else's cloud... motivation is evidently the password and I probably lack that too...I'll study up a bit in the next day or two.... I didn't mean Smug wanted to sell you anything, I meant it wanted you to use that service....selling prints to your clients....
