Using a vintage LottaLite Sealed Beam Lamp with film

Hi all!

Just scored this light for free from a neighbour. Would love to use it for film photography... any advice?

No luck finding a manual online!

Nice! Just pop it on and fire away. Your camera will know what to do, just meter normally.

I am guessing that that light would be more suitable with Tungsten balanced film than daylight balanced film.
If you are using modern, daylight balanced film, you need to use a correction filter on the camera.
The box may supply a hint as to which filter to use - it will be in the 80 family.

The greater challange will be to chose a camera apt in design...

Do you need 12 volt power for this lamp or 110/120 mains current?

Such cine lights typically were mains driven. The 12V versions rather were intented for use by professionals and then as fill light. Otherwise a lot of lamps, and thus batteries were needed at 12V.
