Back in the "glory days" of film, I bought a custom built film washer that worked like to the Premier Aqua/Vac Film Washer, using vacuum to drain the water. So when I returned to film, I bought the Premier Aqua/Vac Film Washer. So far, I've found this film washer to be a huge pain to use and it does not seem like it does a good job.

It is very sensitive to the amount of water going into it. I've returned to the darkroom to see the film sitting with no water on it as the water just runs right out. I did a test without film to see if the tank was completely draining and a few small specks of sawdust remained in the washer after every drain cycle.

Is there any special trick to using the Aqua/Vac? It is nothing like the homemade one I bought years ago. I stopped using this washer when I found a Hurricane Washer.
