I've been unable to get a definitive answer to this question on the web, so here goes:

Does anyone know if a 6x6 negative carrier from an Omega B-22 will work with a Chromega c700 colorhead?

I'm thinking of getting the c-700 head and I'm trying to figure out if I need to source a new 6x6 negative carrier as well.

Thanks!

Googling for images of both leads me to give a tentative "yes" -- they appear to both be flat on both surfaces, so any differences in head size on the enlarger (within reason) shouldn't cause trouble.

Thanks Donald. Yeah, looking at the images of the carriers gave me the same impression, but that's as close as I could get to a definite answer.

Ah....thanks. Unfortunately, the 120 carrier I have for the b22 doesn't have a model number on it, so I can't tell how it will go.
Does it have the black bottom plate? If so, it is from the new series.

The images I found that looked as if they'd interchange had no black bottom on the B22 carrier. I'd suggest waiting to order negative carriers until you have a C700 in hand. I should also note, however, that I've never used either of those models; that last enlarger I used other than my D2 was something or other in college, around 1978, and I don't even recall what brand it was (didn't care, it projected my negatives to a useful size and gave reasonable exposure times, and I was only shooting 35mm at the time).

good advice - thanks!
