This is what happens when sellers turn to Ebay for inspiration.

Sadly when the seller becomes disillusioned the said equipment goes to the landfill...

Some of my best deals came through Craigslist or eBay from people who had good stuff, little knowledge, but were unfortunately unable to connect with current users.

Most of the items advertised on EBay are at grossly inflated prices and seldom , if ever sell!
I cringe when I see broken down , quality, enlargers sold piecemeal that will seldom if ever be sold and then confined to the landfill.
This unrealistic pricing permeates down to Craigslist and other used! websites.
Yes there are deals to be had be you local and quick to act.
For example in your area three APO enlarging lenses were recently sold for $25 each, quite quickly may I add.
In that case the items were sold to an appreciative buyer .
FWIW, in'our area' there is Durst 138 with Ilford MG head for sale in Victoria BC.
The seller has obviously seen the inflated EBay prices and refuses to accept realistic offers.

I know of at least one Photrio member in Nanaimo, plus another darkroom person in Parksville. So they are around.

If you don't like the prices on Ebay, you can always purchase items new.

Melvin, I’m in Nanaimo. Still using most of my gear, though shooting lots of pinhole these days, I haven’t been active on Photrio for years. I really enjoyed my zoom meetings with the Abbotsford group during the pandemic. DM me if you’d like to open a conversation.
