I'm making a quick detour to the USAF museum later this month on my way out west. I haven't been there in over 20 years and the last time I was there I did not take photos or remember the lighting conditions.

I planned on shooting Superia 1600 due to what I assume would be low light, the other option would be Portra 400 pushed to 1600 or Portra 800 pused to 1600. FWIW, I've never shot Superia or shot Portra in anything other than box speed so I'm guessing on what would be a better choice.

Any input?

Thanks

It's a fantastic museum. Not only is it dim but it is very crowded.

Don't miss the tour that goes to the remote hangers with the various presidential and experimental aircraft. I think it's offered once a day and limited... but those displays are out of this world. Even dimmer and more crowded rhough.

The issue is not only the low light, but the mixed lighting, I would give some thought to one of the Crimea tungsten films repackaged for 35mm, I believe it is T800 and can be pushed one stop. Not sure but there seems to be versions with and without the Ram Jet backing. I have shoot Superia 1600 only once, good up to 5X7 then it becomes really grainy. Other option is Kodacolor or Fujicolor 800, as amateur film in experience as has more latitude than Porta, again expect grain.
