Hi all,
I've just developed two rolls of Acros 100 in FX55, my usual developer. The FX55 was prepared as per usual, with 100ml of the mix 1.3g of ascorbic acid, 0.1 g of phenidone, all made up to 1l

IThe fixer was Tetenal Superfix Plus at 1 + 4, which I've used before. Dev time was the usual 11 mins at 20C, and fix time was 5 mins at 20 C. My negs have a very pink colour to the base. Do I need to re-fix? They are washing as we speak. Please help.

Yes - although the pink colour isn't necessarily a problem.

Thanks for your quick reply Matt. It's just that I've never seen such a pink base and this is my standard workflow.

Thanks Matt, I will read it. I've already re-fixed for another 5 mins and now the film base is clear! I'm now rewashing, so will read it now. Thanks again for your quick and helpful advice.

Leave the film in water (a little warmer than 20C) to soak for about 15 min. If the film base is clear, there's no need to refix. Dump the water and allow the film to sit in water for another 15 minutes or so. The water will probably be pinkish again. I repeat this until the water is clear. I developed a few sheets last weekend. It took several changes of water to clear it of pink.
