Does anyone know the correct method (if any) to unmount a print? I have a FB print that was mounted on to mat board and there seems to be a bubble that has formed on the print where it has come up from the matt. I want to take it off and remount it but I'm afraid of damaging it. Thanks for any helpful info!
Why not just put it back in the press for a while? Another possibility is to puncture the print bubble with a very fine needle so that air has an escape route, then put it back in the press.
Yes, I was going to try the press method at lunch today, but just in case that doesn't work, I wanted to be able to remount it. I'ma bit leery about puncturing the picture, as I don't know how bad it would show until its too late. Thanks.
If the print was dry mounted then the previous advice is probably the best. If like he says, and the bubble is still there then try the needle. Some dry mount tissue is supposed to be removeable after being heated again, but not all are.
I'm sure your safest bet it just to reheat it in the press. Sometimes when mounting a print at too low a heat or too little amount of time a bubble will be there. Leaving it in longer usually makes it go away.
