The people who used to use these cameras were the first to move on to the dark side. They are the people who are happy with everything the dark side has to offer.

Fuji tiara zoom is a nice camera. Not a very ergonomic design but looks cool has a nice lens and from memory you can hold shutter down to prevent wind on until you are ready. 2 stop compensation too. Mine was $40 but i think they might be pricier too. I was gutted when i got sand in it and killed it

Pentax 928, Canon sure shot 120 classic are good cheap zoom cameras

GarageBoy stole my thunder with regard to the Canon Sure Shot 120 Classic. This is a very nice P&S camera. It has one rather un-nerving trait, though. The flash pops out from the side, rather unexpectedly, when set for use. This sudden jutting out of the flash has surprised some users (me included) resulting in the camera being dropped! So, just one thing to keep in mind when using this otherwise excellent zoom P&S camera.

Btw, found this strange looking thing the other day. Very odd design. How are you supposed to hold this?
That one is new to me. Thank you for posting!

Obviously one holds it like a binocular.
