What is the actual focus distance from the ground glass back? If the natural focus is around 1-2 feet, I'd suspect it was designed as an instrument camera. I have seen some unusual setups for older electron microscopes (the newer ones don't even use film). Just because the film format is 2 1/4 3 1/4 does not mean that the image will be full frame. The back might be convenient for reasons of film stock, handling, etc. It does not make a lot of sense as a general purpose camera.

The front-element focusing goes down to 1m (as typical for that design). Of course the original barrel could be mounted in extension. And we discussed the chance of there being a whole-barrel helicoid.

But a instrument-camera would have front fixtures to mount the camera directly, or to take respective adapters. Those "hinges" would not work as such.
It would not have a finder, a handgrip, nor an accessory shoe.

Next questions:

-) What kind of finder is employed?

-) What are these hinges(?) for at the top corners of the standard?
I don't have it in my possession at the moment...maybe next week if I'm back from Maine in time I'll get it and try to answer all the questions. In some ways it does seem to be a diy camera.

Ok got things figured out...the lens as configured has to be pulled out from the base and now focuses. It is a made up, machined system using various camera parts and will accept a roll film holder. Anyone interested in buying it?
