You say: I shoot mostly 35mm and some 120 and strictly black and white and I use moslty Tri-x , FP4 Plus and Delta 100 and Delta 400.
What developer do you use now?
If you are just starting into fim developing, I would advise using a developer with a large body of published development data for these films - like D-76 or Xtol.
I am currently using D-76. I am trying to find a liquid replacement. BTW , I am not just getting started. I use other Tech chem products and ordered a quart of developer from them.

If you dislike working with powders then the best replacement for D-76 is probably HC-110 since it was designed by Kodak to be a replacement for D-76. It produces very similar negatives. Look at the following website for more detailed info. http://www.covingtoninnovations.com/hc110/
