I remember seeing a picture that won a prize in a magazine that in the technical details had an error that was very funny, it stated that the negative had been developed in Amitol, which is an explosive mixture of T.N.T and Ammonium Nitrate that is commonly used in depth charges

Very interesting, Mustafa, especially the table of fog characteristics for various reducing agents. The greatest fog was seen with the non-staining D-76 and p-phenylenediamine (the reducing agent in Harvey's 777.) Both the D-1 (ABC pyro) and standard amidol forumulae exhibited only 2/3 as much fog.

I'll have to try this on film. BTW, if you add 3 grams of citric acid and 3 ml of 10% KBr to what the article defines as the "standard formula" you have Michael Smith's amidol formula.
