Understanding focal length and dof

They are. When I focus on extremely distant objects on the ground glass with the split image both lenses are at infinity.

I'm going to redo the tests again as I initially wasn't testing for dof - i just wanted a comparison of coverage and sharpness.

In my opinion infinity is not properly calibrated as you suppose. Redo the comparison by focusing infinity on the groundglass for both lenses.

Interesting. Its time to display more of my ignorance. Does the 40150 focusing screen adapter for the SWC accept all of the screens offered for V cameras?

Have you checked the roll holder you used with y'r SWC?

No the SWC adapter is fixed and the adapter has to be taken apart to remove the ground glass. Though apparently it can be hacked to use another screen but I don’t know the details...

The Arcbody uses a similar adapter that takes correction slides with different fresnels depending on the amount of shift.
