There seem to be a few of these all with the same general specs all about the same price. Is one better then the other? Is it worth going up to the Manfrotto? It's twice the price and drops the cold shoe. I don't need the shoe. Or are the cheaper ones good enough to hold an umbrella? I'd like something that can mount to a a tripod. So 1/4" female would be nice.

In actual practice, I have found very little difference between the expensive ones or the less expensive ones, I think the ones that I have I got from the avonea guy on ebay for about 1/3 the cost that Bogen charged for them, there is really so little stress on them that most of them work just fine.

Thanks. I've bought a few things now from Amvona but they charge too much for shipping to justify anything low priced. At least for shipping to Canada.
