I just saw this on another thread as an advertisement.

Is this a new paper? who makes it? and what do users think of this paper?

You know, that's the one thing I don't like about Ultrafine. They usually re-sell good products, but you never know what you're going to get. For a while, they were selling repackaged Kodak RC papers. I mean, you knew it was Kodak material when you got it because the Kodak watermark is on the back. Their Ultrafine 125 and 400 speed films aren't bad for the price, but I have no idea what they are. The last time I looked, and that was a while ago, the implication was that what they've changed suppliers again and have changed the names on their product line. Like I said, they're usually pretty good, but you can't count on a consistent supply of the same materials over time. Freestyle is much better in this regard. The provenance of their re-branded products is more or less an open secret, and they're fairly consistent about keeping the products available.

I've been tempted to try some and PW/UFOnline has always done right by me.

Their short dated/expired color 220 C41 stock is a great deal.

Frank, I actually just picked up some 25 pack samples of the Adorama FB & RC b&w papers based on a post you made but haven't tested them yet.

PW/UFOnline also has some 5x7 FB paper on ePrey for a good deal and will probably try some but I'm not sure what exactly they are calling it or if it's the "Silver Eagle".

I'd also love to hear some opinions if anyone has tried ANY of their recent FB stock.

My comment about Freestyle applies equally to Adorama. While they can't divulge the exact provenance of their house brand enlarging papers, they did say, "the support is made in the Czech Republic and the emulsion is coated in England." My guess is that Ilford is doing contract work, though of course, I can't say with any authority if that's true. I don't think there's another company in England running a photosensitive materials coating line Anyway, it is a very good product. I think you will like it. I'll be needing another 250 sheet box of 8x10 glossy RC pretty soon, and that's on my list. Arista.EDU Ultra is nice if you want something slightly warm that tones well in selenium. Adorama papers remain very neutral in selenium and have crisper mid tone separation.

i used to buy their rebranded paper often.
it was good stuff, and the right price.
i saw the silver eagle banner a few days
ago and kind of wished i didn't have so much
paper already ... i am sure it is good - stuff - - -
