"Ultimate Quad Cam"

What do you know about this Ultimate QuadCam that Freestyle is selling? From the description it sounds as if it can function like either a Nickelodeon Photoblaster or like the motion-capturingDead Link Removed depending on the setting you choose. Is this a correct conclusion?

Looks a lot like the four-lensed camera I fished out of the sales bin some years ago although it lacks the built-in flash. The idea is that when you press the button the camera makes four exposures in a row on one 35mm negative. In this way you can capture movement. In my opinion it is a kind of Lomo or a Lomo-clone. Btw: I have never tried the camera but it sits on a book shelf and for the rare camera connaisseur that visits it is a bit of a conversation piece.

The Ultimate Quadcam is vastly superior to any of the cheap plastic multi-lensed offerings from the Lomo Society. As the UQ's blurb says:

'Take one image at a time, two images at a time, four images at a time or four images sequentially at three different speeds. Includes a built-in flash with red-eye reduction, motorized advance and rewind.'

None of the Lomo cams have any extra features beyond perhaps a rudimentary flashand maybe some colour gels.

In effect with the UQ, if you choose to, you can shoot 144 seperate shots on one 36 frame roll. You cannot do that with any of the Lomo cameras, they all fire all four shutters together.
