I looked at a 100 sheet box is £92 including 20% VAT. In Canadian that's $170. My local camera Store in Calgary wants $155 +5% GST, or $163. It will be more expensive in every other province when PST/HST is added.

So the UK is about the same price as Canada on a tax included basis.

It's $70 in Canada, which is 38 pounds.

Canadian and Australian dollar have always hovered around parity or near-parity; that film is around $82 in Australia presently.

Yes Ilford is cheaper for us here

Paper has gone up significantly in the USA. Little competition. Very low demand. I suspect that the state universities may have contract pricing etc. And no real options to buy from foreign sellers without the tariff nonsense.

If there is contract pricing, it was arranged with the US distributor, not Ilford/Harman.
It is doubtful that a distributor would lock themselves into a price over a long time when the costs to them would be so vulnerable to things like currency fluctuations and import taxes and international shipping costs.
More likely such a contract would include a percentage reduction of the standard price charged to retailers, where the reduction is related to committed volumes.

That's a pretty recent change.....before the last US election, Ilford film & paper prices were cheaper in US than Canada (I was ordering from B&H)

What's your point? US distributor is not in a position to dictate prices to B&H and Freestyle. Obviously it's tied to volume. In manufacturing we would receive rebates based on volume, we would even receive rebates based on other lesser companies purchases. We were a market maker for certain chemicals and plastics.

Freestyle is a major player, I think they determine prices, well the import fees muddy things a bit. Hopefully there's no trouble with shipping across the Atlantic.
