I once had an interesting conversation with him in which he said that all of his platinum prints were made by an outfit in Texas. He said he didn’t have the slightest idea how to go about making them.

If true, that would be just like people's knowledge of Kodachrome.

I always liked Jerry's work. Thank you for posting these videos. One of my favorite things he said in some interview for something was "What I'd like the industry to be working on is a 35mm negative that swells to 4x5 when processed." Can't remember if those were his exact words, but pretty close... I'd like that, too!

Uelsmann had the good fortune to become a favorite of Popular Photography readers...

Personally, I have always been impressed by his technical wizardry in his prints...but have seen them as virtuosity more than art.
