The EPX76 is a silver oxide cell and is widely available. It is the same as the SR44.

Cool!! Thanks for the info I found the batteries for the camers Yashica has a energizer LS44 lithium battery and I wonder if that's the one that's OEM? And the XG1 has ms76 batteries and I figure that's correct. I will have soon a Minolta SRT 100 and know it takes the mercury battery. And I'd like to know what would make a good replacement battery, a Wien cell, a zinc air battery? I'd rather not any ajustments to the meter!! I don't fully understand all I read on different sites and links!! espeacally about the adapters and some kind of diode?
Have a good one,

For the SRT 100, I think you can make do quite well with the 675 hearing aid battery, with no meter adjustment needed. It's not the right physical size, but I have used one of these with no washer (#9 size) needed.

As for the other two cameras, I'll take your word for it about the correct batteries. However, I think the LS44 and MS76 are interchangeable. Same size and voltage.

I'll have to check on those 675s The LS44 and MS76 are not interchangable ! The LS44 is about 1/2 the length of a AA battery and the MS76 are WAY shorter!!The LS44 is a 6 volt battery and the MS76 are about 1.5 to 2 volts each? And the camera takes 2 batteries. I could be wrong?
I thank you guys for the quick replies,

Terry:

The SR44 is the equivalent to the MS76. There is a battery that is essentially just two MS76/SR44 batteries in one casing, and therefore can usually be used in place of two MS76/SR44s, but I cannot remember the designation.

ms76= 1.5V, Mattking & I are having the same problem with the 3V. but the 6V is the LR44 or PX28. Lr is an alkaline or lithium and PX is silver oxide.
Oh yeah, youcan stack them to make the voltage you want.
