Call me crazy, but I think it is possible to standardize on one tripod and head system for multiple formats. I think I finally landed upon a system so this is the shedding of the "extras."
!. Bogen/manfrotto 410 junior geared head. $175 includes conus shipping and paypal fees.
Cosmetically in nice condition. The 410pl plate is brand new. The controls feel a bit stiff to me, but that could be to lack of use. everything holds position just fine.
2. Slik SH-909 pan-tilt tripod head. $135 includes conus shipping and paypal fees
Like new condition. somewhat heavy but has a decent weight capacity. Of note is the panning function does not have an arm but just a knob.
3. Gitzo G-1370M tripod head $125 conus shipping and paypal fees included.
Used, but functions just fine. Everything locks up tight.
4. Cullmann Magnesit 30nm ballhead #40190 $100 conus shipping and paypal fees included
Older head. Light use over the years. One of the rubber grip rings fell off of one knob. Come with the round siimple plate, and a Giottos "arca style" plate and adapter.
If you google "Cullmann Magnesit 40190" there is still model info on the B&H website
5. Manfrotto 577 rapid QR plate system with 2 plates (I only have one shown in the photos) $50 conus shipping and paypal fees included.
very little use. No packaging still exists.
6. Linhof quickfix II In box with 2 long plates (plates are same length as the quickfix II base) $100 conus shipping and paypal included
Used in box with instructions. I really thought this would be THE plate system for me, but the big red QR lever didn't work on either of my pan/tilt tripods, and the flat base made me leary of mounting it on my ball head. (no slot on the underside for anti-twist ears)
