The knobs on tripods (or any similar device) have a rubber strip that goes around the knob, it is often serrated; and it helps in gripping the knob of course.
I need some of that stuff. But i have no idea what to call it and cannot do a search for it.
Anybody know what Word/terminology i should use to do a search.?
Thank You

Try buying a square of self-adhesive 'Dragon Grips'.
I bought a 5" x7" piece and cut pieces to size and apply it where I want. These are available thru Amazon. The link shows some small precut pieces that are useful for certain things, but for the edges of a knob I would cut from my 5" x 7" piece, to fit.

I put it on smooth smartphone surfaces that are too slick to grip well, so the phone is less likely to slip out of my hands (I dislike cases that add too much thinkness bulk to an otherwise slimline phone!)

There are foam tubes to be pushed on bike steering bars to serve as grip padding. Such might be useful on some tripds too if they fit.
