trigger voltage pc sync socket

i have a wein safe sync i also have the squelch i use with my lumedyne ...
but my dslr has a PC socket ... i know trigger voltage is a issue with hot shoes
( nikon used to say max 6v ? ) but i have not been able to find a definitive answer about
the pc socket. some say 250v, others say 67v ... i've even called NIKON to ask and haven't
been able to get any answer at all, even from the source ... any clue what voltage my socket can handle
and besides the wein is there a paramount cord that has the resister / step down built in?
im thinking of getting a radio trigger .. can you use them with NON HOTSHOE stuff ?

I'm guessing the PC socket will have the same ratings as the hot shoe on that camera. But without telling us which camera, no one will have any way of knowing anything.

And sure, you can use a radio trigger. I do that all of the time. You just need to make sure the radio trigger can handle the trigger voltage you intend to subject it to and make sure you have all of the proper adapter cables. And what voltages it can handle with which cables you need will depend on which model of radio trigger you use. I specifically chose Phottix for my radio triggers because their receivers can handle high voltages, and they're not crazy expensive.

what throws me for a loop is "speed light circuits" is that BOTH the hot shoe and pc socket ? or is one rated for a higher voltage than the other ?

Probably both are the same. Back in the day before hot shoes were virtually universal PC sockets were the only game in town.
