Tri-X in Rodinal..Stand Development

I just tried Donald Qualls recommendation for tri-x in rodinal (50:1, 17 minutes, agitate at 5 minute intervals, 20o c). If I was to change the ratio to 100:1 does it follow that I would develop for 34 minutes?

Usually 1.4 times the original time if you cut the concentration by half.

Tried stand development for the first time last weekend. Used RO9 from J&C at 2ml per 8 oz. Inverted 5 times at the start and 5 at twenty min. Total time was 45 min at 66 deg F. These print on a condenser enlarger and #2 paper just right.

I neglected to mention the film was Tri x.

Really? I was under the Covington-inspired impression that twice the dilution = twice the time... or is that ANOTHER thing I've been getting wrong :rolleyes:
Edit: Yep, checked on his site about HC110 where he does say, "Try the unofficial dilution H which is half of dilution B, and simply develop twice as long as for dilution B"... has worked for me.

D76 is 5 min, 1:1 it works out at 7.5. That is 1.5 by me.

Maybe highly dilute works differently.

High dilutions that's the key
digitaltruth lists these times for PluX
Rodinal 1+25 = 6 min
Rodinal 1+50 = 13 min
that is 2X +

Back to TriX Rodinal:
If you are going to try Roidnal 1+100, then try 40 minutes
Since the developer is so diluted and you are useing stand or semistand then the higlights will not blow and the shadows will have some detail.

Grain on a 10x8 print from TriX in rodinal 1:50 is not bad at all.

Tri-X in Rodinal, semi-stand, has very pleasant grain up through pushing to 12,800...which is as high as I've seen. Haven't seen prints, though...only scans. If only I could get my hands on the prints.

What format? I thought it was a bit much in 35mm, but in 6x7 was gorgeous.

Just to note, what I was talking about above was on 35mm. Tri-X in Rodinal, 1:50 for 51 minutes. Constant agitation for the first minute and then five inversions every five minutes thereafter. I couldn't believe my eyes...so I'm doing it myself. Heh.

I thouight the grain was nice.
I shot a few rolls, and got old-time-looking pictures with grain that actually added to the picture

Maybe just me that think fine grain is overrated
