I'm looking for some 220 tri-x asap, can anyone recommend a supplier with online ordering from the uk

Last time i posted this an APUGer kindly sent me some.

I'm in need again and although I know Silverprint sell it, I only need one pack of 5 which is £25 and unfortunatly Silverprints minimum order is £100

Can anyone suggest another supplier in the UK please

I checked all my suppliers and other than Silverprint couldn't see any Tx 220.

You need a kind hearted UK Apuger to buy it for you, when they are ordering from Silverprint, so bypassing the minimum order situation.

Thanks for trying Ian, the funny thing is I was going to buy a big print washer also bringing me well over the £100 limit but they wont ship the washer

for roll film I usually use http://www.speedgraphic.co.uk/ cos they are cheap but it looks like they only have tri-x in 120.

you might try phoning firstcall but again its only listed in 120 http://www.firstcall-photographic.co.uk/

both have much lower minimum order values but you have to pay shipping. Firstcall are very helpful. Speedgraphic are just cheap and don't cater for the specialist whereas firstcall are predominantly for film users.

It's quite possible only Silverprint has the 220 version in stock as it's no longer manufactured.

Ian

Ian,

Are you referring to 320TXP or 400TX in 220? 320TXP is still in production in 220 as far as I know - do you know any different? I assumed that both Silverprint and Process Supplies are referring to 320TXP in 220 and sheet film sizes when the say 'Tri-X'.

Best,
Helen

Hi Helen, I'm not a Tx user I tried it in the 60's and again in the 70's, but always preferred HP3, then HP4 and later HP5 The 220 film base is no longer manufactured so all 220 films will disappear.

However some manufacturers may well have larger stocks of 220 film. . . . . .

Ian

Ian,

What part of the 220 film base is no longer made? Kodak's 220 films share the same acetate base as their 120 films.

Thanks,
Helen

Your right Helen, my mistake. Shouldn't believe all that your told.

However 220 Tri-x seems to be stocked by very few dealers in the UK, other than Silverprint this is the only other stockist I can find: The Pro Centre

I got a few 5 packs from Bob Rigby's in Cheshire a couple of weeks ago.

David.

Somebody on the US ebay Express site is selling a pack of 5 for around US$35 plus shipping. Worth doing a search and messaging them to see if there is any minimum order and what shipping costs would be. There may be other sellers on there too.

Hi Fintan,

I bought some supplies last year from Silverprint that only came to £20 or £30 and they sent the goods without any problems. The same minimum order value was applicable then but I had forgot about it when ordering and they never mentioned it.

Give them a ring and explain your predicament.

Peter

Thanks Peter,
I did ring but they said no unfortunatly.

US ebay Express only ship to the US

Thanks for the other suggestions.
