Yes, thanks for bringing this to our attention. I've got one of Thesiger's books -- in part because I've lived five years in Saudi Arabia and three years in Oman, so almost de rigeur. interesting that he carried a screw-mount Leica in a leather draw-string bag, never knew when he'd be able to get his film developed, he and his equipment had to withstand tremendous heat while in the desert. Just goes to show what can be accomplished with minimal equipment and great will power.
