As a current Board of Directors member for Texas Photographic Society and a long time APUGer, I would like call your attention to this competion being juried by Christopher James. Many here know of James' work as an artist, educator and author and some will also of the Texas Photographic Society. If not, check both out here: http://www.texasphoto.org/contests/AltProcesses/AlternativeProcessesInfo.html
The Pajaro Valley Arts Council, Watsonville CA, will have its second juried exhibition of Photo Alchemy: Alternative Processes in Photographic Media, from March 4 - April 19. For more information and the "Call for Entries" :
This exhibit is open to California artists from the Monterey Bay Area, Central Coast and
the greater Bay Area
Sorry, Andrew
I guess prints also must be retrieved in person. Watsonville is almost a 2 hour drive from San Francisco. Seems they want only LOCAL entries, so I don't think they will see mine, either.
Oops, I hadn't seen that. But Philip, I'll make the same offer to you as I did to Andrew - send 'em to me and I'll hand deliver. Although I'd much prefer to use the opportunity meet you down here...
That's very generous. I can't make you responsible for return shipping, and I don't have time for 2 trips to Watsonville (3 if I want to see the exhibition). This is so close to home, but I don't think I will be able to participate. If you know these folks, tell them the logistics are a serious problem ...
Sorry this doesn't work for you. I was hoping to meet you and see some of your work. Perhaps you can make the drive down here for the Historic Photo Process Forum at the Santa Cruz Museum of Art and History. Here's the link to this months meeting:http://www.santacruzmah.org/event/historical-photo-processes-forum/
