I have noticed my Toyo View 45CF focus is not uniform left to right with front swing in neutral position. The problem is corrected by a small adjustment of front swing.
Does anyone know if the front swing and shift can be calibrated for the neutral locked position, or do I just need to adjust and lock?
I use a microscope slide attached to the rear element of my most commonly used lens. I shine my enlarger alignment laser at the ground glass back and note where the reflected beam lands. Then I remove the back and adjust the front detents so the beam reflected off the microscope slide lands at the same place.
I have a Horseman, and the adjustment points to center the swing and tilt detents are obvious. Can you post a picture? Have you tried to obtain the service manual? Personally I try to get the swing detents perfect as this will affect horizons with wide lenses.
Well, I have discovered the front neutral position is sloppy from wear so I just need to be careful. Adjustment of tilt if done unevenly on the left and right can add a small amount of twist on the front.
the picture shows how this can happen. I did this to extreme just to illustrate.
