Toyo field cameras

I am looking to replace my MPP with another metal field camera.
I have found a couple of Toyo's with dealers here in the UK.
One is a metal field, older type, the other is a 45ax. Am I correct in assuming that these are basically the same camera of different generations?

The movements of the 45AX is fine as I do mainly landscape, my MPP has always had enough even for the close up work I do, which is quite simple in movement terms. If the metal field has the same it will be fine, is this the case?

The cameras are £300 difference in cost, anyone with first hand knowledge like to say if the cost difference is justified.

I use a Toyo 45AII, which is the upgraded version of the 45A and the 45AX. If you have a choice between the older 45A and the AX, get the AX. The rotating back is very very nice to have.

For landscapes, I have almost never run out of movements it works very very well. The camera is build like a tank, and has one of the brightest gg I have ever used.

I think you will be very pleased with the AX, but seriously look at the 45AII as well, I like it more, due the the knobs being easier to use in cold weather.

If the older camera is not an A then the answer is "no" they are not basically the same. The older camera is likely a Toyo version of the Graphic or something similar. The A/AX/AII/AII-L are very diferent cameras.
