I have a Toyo 45AX that has served me very well over the last few years; however, with one niggling irritation. The focus lock mechanism just doesn't seem "forceful" enough in keeping the lens stage in a fixed position, particularly with full bellows extension. I've made two efforts at disassembly in order to tweak the mechanism and all I've achieved is trading smooth focusing action for firmness of the locking mechanism.

Is there anyone who might have also experienced this problem and found a practical solution?

Although I've also noticed the less-than-firm grip of the locking tab on my 45AX, it hasn't really been a problem for me. Sorry I don't have any suggestions for elegant solutions. (An external clamp might help, but wouldn't be elegant.)

Thanks for the replies to Ralph and Robert. It's always good to double check your focus anyway!
