Maybe this isn't the correct forum for this and if not, I'm hoping it can be moved to another more suitable.

There has been talk here in the "photographing alone" thread and others of the way many photographers can shoot the same place in so many different ways. Today Kevin Saitta posted a shot of a torn curtain in Bodie and it caught my eye because I had just been there and had photographed the same window. Thinking that many of us have probably stood right there in front of the same window, I thought it might be a good way to illustrate people's different ways of seeing the same subject.

So... if you have been there and have made that shot. How about sharing it and we'll see what we can come up with? Post it in the Standard Gallery and put a link in this thread.

Might be fun...

Hi Rob, I was thinking just the window, or any frame with that window in it. Perhaps it was too late when I posted and the darkroom fumes had gotten to me! I thought it would be a good, common shot to use for this experiment, but maybe I overestimated the number of folks that have photographed there.

Maybe it should be anything from Bodie, but I thought it might be fun to do just the one subject if possible.

Bill,

Your own Northern MI gathering and your generous touring of the gathered to your favorite spots was another example. O'Neil Lake for instance, some walked away, others of us couldn't leave it alone for three days.

Very true John. Some have continued to return on their own.

It's great to see everyone's different views and I'm still hoping a few pop-up. I was looking at the 2 shots and comparing the decomposition of the curtain. Only very slight differences with Kevin's shot obviously done earlier.

Looks like I was wrong about the window! Sorry folks...bad idea.

Bill,

The idea isn't "bad" - it's a good one. But the subject is very narrow. You and Kevin may be the only two members to have shot that curtain.

Perhaps instead, you could identify a subject out where Foto3 is going to be and suggest that APUG folk who will be at that event could render their interpretation of the subject to be posted here?
