amazing work and not only. it takes a great deal to go over your fears and misconceptions when comes to such subject.
 
Street photography, quite possibly at its finest. As intriguing as the photography was, I was particularly interested in the viewers' comments. They sounded quite similar to recent discussions here, with one exception.

Conspicuously absent from those comments was any discussion of the photographer's demeanor while capturing these images. This is quite telling.

At a risk of re-opening a nasty can of worms, I would suggest that this street photographer showed common courtesy and respect to his subjects, and in so doing, has rewarded us all with a wonderful body of work.

Common courtesy and respect, what a novel idea.
 
Don't you just love the NYT Lens blog? It's the first thing I go to after checking email when I get home from work.

My dear cousin was one of these people in New York City. She died of AIDS a couple of years ago because of a shared needle. These people can be saved. They are still alive and there is still hope.
