Hey, i have a print sitting here, and i heard that you can tone any prints with food coloring. Is this true, and what is the method for doing it, i would like to try it today.

Thanks,

Tyler

You can dunk a print in just about any liquid to tone it, cold tea being a good one. Some products last longer than others. I've used food for spot colours, but never to colour the whole print. Experiment and enjoy!

Strictly speaking it's staining rather than toning (the pedant in me coming to the fore there!). Tea is good as is coffee. Bear in mind that all the treated area will stain, borders included.

Enjoy!

check your first post. but thanks Frank for reminding me that it is staining rather than toning. Sliped my mind (too much fixer on the brain)
