Toner Bleach and Farmer Reduces

What is the difference between Toner Bleach and Farmer Reducer. I had saved some bleach I bought a while back , came with a toner package.
I was thinking about purchasing Farmer Reducer to clear up some minor density build up in tiny areas from some prints so as to make them look better.
Then I remember I had bleach so it effectively did the job when rubbing a immersed tip of a Q-tips over the little area I wanted to reduce. I know if put back
in the Dektol tray the density amusingly comes back like if nothing happened ... but if fixed , then it is permanent.

Is this ok ? , or Formulary Spotting Reducer II for paper is the right way to do this ?

Farmers Reducer contains sodium thiosulphate while a toning bleach does not. You can use a toning bleach in place of Farmers Reducer, but not the other way round - The thiosulphate content will act as a fixer.

If i want to selectively bleach a print, I'd use a regular bleach and then put the print in a fixing bath & wash. Don't see much point in having both Farmers Reducer and a bleach sitting on the shelf.

Fantastic, thank you. Based on what you are telling me, I actually see now an advantage in using Bleach. If I make a mistake and want to undo it, I simply put it back in the Dektol tray and voilá, it redevelops back to what it was prior to bleaching. I was amusingly surprised to see that it literally undoes no matter how much bleaching was applied. I refixed it, washed it . no stains no visual side-effects detected.
