Hello,

I am excited to share my recent thesis exhibition at with the forum.

The show was at the Grunwald Gallery at Indiana University back in March. The virtual exhibitions went live recently. Hope you enjoy the work.

Additionally, there is a lot of amazing work by my peers in other media that you should check out.

As I wasn't sure which forum to post in, I posted in the publications/ gallery section. If there is a more appropriate section please let me know so I can have it moved there.

Amazing and thought provoking. I wonder if the cracked texture resulted from distressing the negative.

Hi Kris
Thanks for the link and your thesis statement!
beautiful images! were you using commercial silver gelatin paper or were you making your own emulsion ?
AND are these reproductions or are the original works this large (gigantic!) cause I see in some of your other works you might be making glass images you coat yourself..

Thanks. The cracks are indeed a result of my distressing the negative. The printing process created the veils.

Hello John,

Thanks. I used Ilford Fiber Classic. The prints are originals and are roughly 30"x40". Printing them and then manipulating them was quite the exercise. I made hand-coated glass plates for my undergrad thesis.

I think what I like the most is that the work and the academic discourse support each other.
Those of us here who aren't in the academic world can enjoy the work, and those who have at least one foot in the academic world can appreciate how the work supports the hypothesis.
I certainly would like to see the photographs in real life.
Your thesis should essentially defend itself.

Thanks Matt. It essentially did defend itself, for the most part.

Thanks for showing the prints. They look great. Hopefully you'll find a second venue to display them in!
