What are we supposed to use when our freezers are empty? Anyone find anything yet that they like nearly as much or more? Every time I break out a sheet I marvel over how much more I like it then anything else commonly available.

Sad in the Snow
It is sad... I have about half a box left of the Agfa 111. Part of the reason I like Agfa was the price! And the surface. I've tried the J&C Polywamtone (aka Forte Polywarmtone) recently and quite like it. It is warmer than the agfa, but I find the surface of the paper to be quite similar. I'm going to play around with some toners on it.
At a trade show on Tuesday I was in discussion with the buyer from a company selling own brand photo-papers. He indicated that there was a very strong possibilty that similar papers would go back into production later in the year, as there was demand. But they wouldn't be be made by Agfa.
I switched to Polywarmtone 18 months ago and find the paper more flexible than Agfa MCC and like Suzanne says it has very similar finish.
Forte Polywarmtone, eh? hmmm, that's good to hear. I've been at a loss myself, wondering how I'd ever find a replacement for the Agfa 118 - I've used it for hand coloring for years, and more recently for bromoil printmaking. I have a near-full box of it, and that's all. *chokes back a sob*
As these other names come out, I plan on trying each and every one of them! And hopefully someone will come up with emulsions as similar as possible.
Phil Neilson from Amplis Canada (Agfa Distributor) told me that there was going to be a very large shipment of Agfa products coming in mid Feb. FB paper was to be among it. I will try to get a hold of him to find out if it has arrived or when it will be here.
RE:Forte-I've been using Forte Poly V and WT 16x20 20x24 for my pinhole contact prints lately (Ilford WT was just way too expensive) and was happy to find that Freestyle is selling it repackaged under their arista.edu brand for a good deal less than I can buy Forte even at my local stores-B&H and Adorama (I know, I'm really spoiled).
The shipment just came into Vancouver yesterday. Check with Leo's or Beau photo. Some of the chemistry, like Neutal WA, is delayed, but should be along shortly. Lot's of Rodinal though.
