Has kodak stopped making the tmax films in these sizes? I went to there site and only saw them in 4x5.

Looks like you can't buy it from them through the online 'store' and otherwise the Kodak site is useless. Probably the last place to find info about Kodak films....

Search results from the Kodak site:
You searched for tmax 8x10.
Unfortunately, no items were found with the keyword "tmax 8x10".

I remember once getting a similar response when I typed in "2x4" on the Home Depot site.

I think 5x7" is a special order item and I understand it as 8x10 is available as a normal item. And no, Kodak aren't really very good at advertising the films within their own site. Tried to look for the tech pub for Plus-X the other day and the Kodak search engine turns up "no items were found, blah blah".

BTW, here's a link to a special order for 5x7" Tmax 400 at Canham Cameras: http://canhamcameras.com/kodakfilmstatus.html

Thanks for the info

Tmax 400 through the canham special order is 162.00 for 5o sheets. That's 3.24 a sheet. Adorama has tmax 100 for 118.00 for 50 sheets. That's 2.36 a sheet. HP5 41.00 for 25, that's 1.64 a sheet. And FP4 37.00 for 25. That's 1.48 a sheet. That is quite a price difference. I have shot HP5 in 8x10 but never liked the look I got. Very creamy and lacked real snap. But I have only used it with HC110 B. Mabey there is a different developer which works better with it. It may be time to start experimenting.

maybe foma will get their act together and start making the the T200 again in 5x7
I'm ready to kiss off kodak at $162/box...the last special order came in around under $120/box and that was only last year...something smells fishy in Rochester!!
Best, Peter

I carry the 8x10 T-Max 400 in my retail outlet in Canada. It's a regular stock item. The 5x7 in T-Max 100 and Tri-X are also regular stock items. You might want to consider Ilford Delta 100 in 5x7. It comes in boxes of 100, I usually keep a box or two in stock but am out until the next shipment ships.

Kodak now puts out a vague disclaimer about sizes in their technical data: "SIZES AVAILABLE Catalog numbers and packaging may differ from country to country. See your dealer who supplies KODAK PROFESSIONAL Products." The 8X10 size is not listed in the Kodak Store, but it is still listed, with a product number, in the Q&A section. I would be surprised if it were not available; 8X10 is a very standard size. I saw nothing about availability in 5X7. I think it has been discontinued, except for special orders ($2500 minimum). 5X7 is a lovely size, but it is somewhat oddball, and there has been little demand for it.

Went looking tonight for 8x10 Tmax 400. Found the ugly word of DISCONTINUED on the B&H site. What a shame.

Alex, check Canhams site, there's a special order going there for TMY400 in 8x10 Deadline is soon so don't wait to long if you need it.

The deadline for the 8x10 TMY special order is 01/31/2011. Canham is offering coupons for 10% off the price per box, so the discounted price comes to $62.10 for a 10-sheet box. However, to qualify for the discount your order must be postmarked by 1/15. Details are on the Canham website, as Jan mentioned.

Hey gang, just following up on this.

I was in contact with Keith Canham regarding the special order. The 8X10 is submitted to Kodak and slated for production, but I don't know exactly when.

The 5x7 order still doesn't have enough interest to meet the minimum production. If anyone is interested, please consider it soon. I'm afraid that we may loose the opportunity if we don't make it happen.
