Hi,
First of all - hello everybody. I am new to APUG
And now question - if anybody has an idea how to develop TMax 400 (120) pushed to 640...I am working mostly with Rodinal and so called Rodinal Special.(Probably I will be able to get TMax developer if it will be necessary)
I tired to find something online but unsuccessfully.
I just shoot few rolls in that way and now trying to not loose it
thanks a lot

First off, welcome to APUG.

Tmax 400 at 640 could probably be developed at normal times and come out fine. If you really have an itch to extend times, I would not extend times more than 5-7%. That said, Rodinal and Rodinal Special are not really good developers for Tmax since they can have unintended side effects such as higher than expected contrast and increased grain size. Tmax really needs Tmax developer to get the full benefits of that film.

A good site to look for development times and ideas is http://www.digitaltruth.com/devchart.php which is a spectacular resource. However, Tmax and Rodinal/Rodinal Special at 640 are not listed.

I shoot TMY-2 in Rodinal all the time. Love it.

I'd shoot a test roll and begin w/ something like Rodinal 1+50, agitate first min than 2 gentle inversions once every min after, 72 degrees, for maybe around 8:30 min.

But def try a test roll. Especially w/ rodinal, your agitation technique will determine the time quit a bit.

Thank you very much. its very helpful

I'll try to get Tmax developer then.

I love it too. its my favourite 400 film. i have no problem with Tmax400@400 or @800 + Rodinal. I was just kind of curious if there is any combination when shooting @640. will try your recipe as well

Artur: just use you 800 method. It will be fine.
