I received a newsletter from The Impossible Project today, announcing the OPEN HOUSE IN THE IMPOSSIBLE FACTORY (in The Netherlands, Europe - in the town of Enschede, near the German border).
I went to an open house about three years ago and is was very interesting/cool to see how it all works. This is the original Polaroid Factory that The Impossible Project reopened/continued. You'll feel back in time, being a part of the Polaroid history, standing between the very large machines from the 1970's. The tour guides speak English, German and Dutch as well. They are all employees of the old and new company.
And part of the tour is visiting the guy who works there for over 40 years now fixing all kind of Polaroid cameras (he knows them all by hart). I brought mine and he CLA'd it for free during the tour - even added a frog tongue. Later he showed me his tattoo. Guess what it was ....

Visit the Impossible Factory on May 22, 2015!
Some people have creative spaces, others have creative offices we have a creative factory. Come and see it for yourself with the Impossible Factory Open Day on May 22, 2015. Free tours begin at 9:30am and 1:30pm, in English and Dutch.
See where the story of instant film begins. Our tour of the original Polaroid site in Enschede, the Netherlands, includes an introduction from Stephen Herchen, CTO and former Polaroid R&D chemist. Youll meet members of the Impossible factory team, see the assembly machines in action and learn just how difficult it is to produce physical instant film in the digital age.
Deadline for registration is 11:59pm CET April 26, 2015. Please be quick as these tours fill up fast.
