TIP! Linhof technika electronic rangefinder in auction

Hi guys,
I wanted to tip you for a electronic rangefinder in auction.
This model is from a Linhof Technica Master 2000 (camera not included)

I think this is a unique change to buy one, since they got out of market almost immediately after releasing it.

I assume it is your item.

Well, I have seen it back then at Photokina and I was not quite sure about its benefits over a classic visual rangefinder.
To me it looked rather like some Linhof gadget.

Agreed, I think this is more of a collectors item.

This gadget was supposed to provide the Master Technika 2000 with rangefinder capabilities. More than once Bob Saloman on the large format forum has said that the problem with it was that, well, it didn't really work. And as a result Linhof recalled them. As I recall some months ago a Master Technika 2000 with one of these sold on ebay.
