Hello.
Just bought some Jessops films, and now looking for a dev.
I would try the Ultrafin, but can't find any developing times for Jessops films. Has anyone had any experiece with them? The film is Pan 100s.
Thanks.

Use Agfa APX 100 times, because the Jessops 100s is APX 100

So those who mourn the passing of APX should seek out Jessops film. I wonder how much Jessops have left as presumably their stocks can't be replaced either?

Can you say how you know the two films to be identical? The reason I ask is that I saw a comparison of Jessops 100 with, I think, Ilford D100 and or Tmax in a UK magasine called Practical Photography several years ago.

The magasine's conclusion was that Jessops was OK but not quite up to the standard of the comparison films and even at magasine reproduction quality the prints clearly demonstrated this even to my untrained eye.

As Jessops was much the cheaper option then, this didn't surprise me but if it is APX100 then based on what followers of APX say I am surprised that such a difference was there.

Maybe the originator can say what the Jessops price was. APX is certainly fetching a premium these days in comparsion with Fuji, Ilford or Kodak prices, judging by Mathers of Lancashire prices whose films are very competitively priced.

Maybe APX followers are paying way over the odds when they could just walk into Jessops.

Jessops has probably used several different brands over the years?
But the Jessops 100s I have been using here in Norway over the last two years most definetly was APX 100. First the edge numbers and letters are the exact same font used by Agfa, haven`t seen any other brand with that font. And one Apx 100 and one Jessops 100s developed together came out with the same density and tonality, impossible to see any difference.
If it walks like a duck....

There is a guy on ebay in the UK selling APX 100 and 400 just now, although it is at a BIN price finishing in about 13 hours. I'm assuming he'll relist if he doesn't sell all he has, but it is £15 for 10 x 36 exposures and long dated. (the 400 is dated 2010 so the 100 probably is as well.) Link below

Just checked the Jessops website. It has a better range of films than I would have expected. In fact almost everything EXCEPT JESSOPS! So it looks as if it no longer does own brand although some shops may still have stocks. This means investigating each shops stock situation. If as seems the case that the most recent Jessops was Agfa then no Jessops stock makes sense. Given their uncompetitive film prices and digi thrust I can't see Jessops selling film for much longer either.
The current price quoted on e-bay for 10 is less than half the price that Mathers of Lancashire wants. Maybe the seller hasn't checked out APX prices. If BIN means Buy It Now then I'd go for it if I were an APX afficionado. If I re-call correctly, Mathers unfortunately doesn't do export mail order anyway
