I resemble that!Either that or you went to the Matt King school of everything is awesome.
As well it should be. In fact, it's the latest in a long line of "photography's too expensive and digital sucks" threads which, since they essentially consist of politics and religion while accomplishing nothing, ought be banned in regular categories and allowed only in the Soap Box.This thread is on the edge of being locked.
While commuting 100 miles round trip for decades, I read every bumper sticker that came into view. There were many. My favorite one was:...you should always approach Life with Hope...
Look at the 2021 annual report, Alaris has 11 million that was received from Kodak. I'll go back and see if I can find it.Eastman Kodak had no involvement with the transaction. Eastman Kodak had nothing to do with that business since it was acquired by Kodak Alaris as part of the bankruptcy settlement.
That would most likely reflect the difference between the depreciated value of the Paper and chemicals business on Alaris' books, and the actual amount received from Sino Promise for those assets.

I don’t have an answer for you or a link, but my guess is that it does not serve Kodak to announce price increases to the broader public. They probably just communicate the new prices to their wholesalers and retailers, then jiffyphoto websites with super-secret insider contacts publish the information. Is there a KA website that is responsible for making such big announcements as price increases and if so can anyone provide a link to it? So far a Google search that I have just done out of curiosity gave me a number of references to the price increase but none to a KA site and all searches seem to lead to sites that all end up referring to the Kosmofoto announcement which is the one that started this thread
Thanks

Yes it is, but did I read correctly that FY21 profit was considerably less than FY20 profit… looking at the division that includes film. Its good to see they are finally making a profit!
Ah, I had missed that.Matt, look at this, post 21 of the Alaris 2021 report.

There wouldn't be, because KA doesn't sell to the public. Is there a KA website that is responsible for making such big announcements as price increases and if so can anyone provide a link to it? A candy bar used to cost a nickel. Get over it.
Its good to see they are finally making a profit!
if that's the case, they gotta fire the people in charge and hire perez back he was the only person who had a clue.If one looks at the financial report (which I linked above), it seems that the only division where they make money is the film business due to price increases and demand. The rest of Kodak Alaris is actually losing money if I'm interpreting the report correctly.
Wrong company John.if that's the case, they gotta fire the people in charge and hire perez back he was the only person who had a clue.
they can run ads again this time for their printers AND bitcoin on the Cartoon Network, ... all day long.
They are actually making money on sales in the Alaris (office scanners) division, but that division is the one with the potentially new and expanding market, so accounting is very different. If one looks at the financial report (which I linked above), it seems that the only division where they make money is the film business due to price increases and demand. KA has no direct contact with retailers. Thanks all. That would explain my fruitless search. So I wonder if KA has already announced the increase to its retailers and distributors does it come attached with a suggestion as to when such announcements should be released to the buying public or does KA not have a position on this at all. It was almost as if Kosmofoto from its language in its announcement was releasing info that was hush-hush. Its message seemed to be that " we should not be saying this right now but we think you deserve to know this early "
If EK decides to cease production of a film, is this solely an EK decision and its announces it on its own site or does this decision to cease production of a film have to be taken in conjunction with KA and if so who makes the announcement, EK or KA?
Thanks

Sounds like a duck and stamps out forest fires with its webbed feet, it's probably a duck.Wrong company John.
EVERY thread like this is speculative, there are never any actual numbers, just people complaining with shaky information about how things were better in the good old days...This thread is speculative.
just people complaining with shaky information about how things were better in the good old days...
no, the good old days are only good because human memory tends to romanticize about how wonderful things were.Weren’t they?
Weren’t they?
I've seen one memo on the internet. It is of uncertain origin. If it is valid, it is probably one distributor's memo to its customers. Alternatively, it might be a memo from Kodak Alaris or one of its subsidiaries to the distributors who buy from them, in the particular market that the memo relates to.Going back to the good ol’ days of when there was conversation about the actual figures on the price increases, is there a document, spreadsheet or some other source for the actual prices increases per item?
