I may have to find a PC cable that locks to the PC port or go for some kind of mod to turn the old PC port to newer ones with screw lock.

Right now there are no washers in-between.

May be there are some clever ways to do the triggering...but I am happy with above.

So sorry you live across the pond or I would send you a flash handle made for TLR's. It moves the flash to the left side of the camera. I've never had an issue with the pc port not holding the pc cable firmly.

Right now rolleifix keeps the camera firm on tripod. I will try to get a handle and see how it goes.

The ones I have screw to the tripod socket, then the tripod can screw into the handle. I have a couple of them, they are handy. I prefer them for mounting a flash on my OM-1's instead of the hotshoe adapters that always break. They worked well on my older Yasica TLR's without flash shoes.

There are pc cords with locks all over ebay? Or do I misunderstand what you state?

Is that the Rf603 btw?

The flash handles/brackets are good, but the L-shaped ones tend to have the handle on the left. Your focus knob, like mine on my Vb is on the left. This can make focussing difficult with a bracket. I managed to convert mine to right hand use, but its not perfect. If anyone knows of one that works on the right, or is adjustable for right or left, I'd like to hear about it. Alex

I should have picked up a Rolleicord V, which has foucus knob on right. ;-) But, this I got for Euro 85 so no complaints thought it need a CLA.

Actually, I can do it with Metz flash handle but I do not know how it will be when mounting on a tripod with Rolleifix.

I will try to upload a photo this evening.

hi

sorry to ask you this,
but isn't it awkward to have to look in the gg
with a flash / attachment in your face when you focus ?
i'd look for a strobo frame or a bacharach bracket to
bring the flash off the side or up-axis'ed ...
so the lighting wouldn't be as difficult as this seems ...

but ... then again, that's just me, if it works for you ...

have fun!

My idea was to keep things very compact.

In the past...

- Metz CL-45 with Rolleicord. Heavy and hard to focus. Never a clever solution.

- Metz CL-45 with Rolleicord on Tripod with Rolleifix. Not so pretty esp., in the house parties.

- Two Metz CL-45 with Umbrellas + Remote trigger + Rolleicord. Happy, but I need to pack the trigger somewhere.

Now, I am using either on Tripod or Monopod(when I try to take some photos of my new born).

Kind of happy now. Sorry to hurt the centiments for going unconventional way.

Isn't this how most old cameras are set-up to be used with newer flashes/strobes, wirelessly?
I am planning a similar set up on my mamiya. /Soon as that big hold-up at Hong Kong clears n shipments clear through.

In case if you want a PC cord, you may get the plain cord that slips into PC port...
