Also got a 35-70 f4, just as flawless.

First off, HOLY CRAP, a metal lens hood. I have two $1000+ Canon L lenses, they have plastic hoods. This lens, + 35-70 f4 and a 7xi, and case = 25 dollars. That's less than a 24 pack. The whole setup is absolutely flawless, I seriously cannot find anything wrong with it, even still has the JMDC sticker on the side.

It's a bit awkward on the end of my featherweight Maxxum 4 but it works well. I may part with the 4 and use the 7xi instead.

Also got an el cheapo flash for 20 bucks from a pawn shop. It's like a smaller version of my 540ez. For now, this is what I'm working with. The 70-300 is decent but at the far end it's super-soft on the corners. Kinda cool if your subject is in the center and it's more than a couple colors (never use this thing for sunsets)

It was a Craigslist score from a World War II vet, took 30 seconds to pay for it and 3 hours to leave lol. They always have the best stories, I make it a point to shake their hand and thank them for their service.

Nice score! I've picked up a few maxxum 7000 cameras at thrift stores. While the 7000 seems a but awkward, the lenses always seemed well-built.

Well done on your find, but next time you're shooting in fluorescent light, please use the appropriate filter so that we don't need to vomit.

As I said over at Dyxum: nice find.
I would keep the 4... great, small, modern camera. It's 90% of the Maxxum 5. The biggest downside imho are the three focus points, but one of those is a cross-sensor. It is a much more modern camera then the 7xi and it will focus SSM and SAM lenses while the 7xi won't. IMHO of course...
